    Description

    1969 El Salvador Multi-Franked Cover to U.S. with "Soccer War" Ballpoint Ink Obliteration on the Honduran President depicted on Scott #C250.  Sender of this cover reported that Salvadoran postal staff were instructed to obliterate the visage of the Honduran President on this 1968 issue following the July 14-18, 1969 "Soccer War" between the two countries.  (This obliteration was in blue ball point ink, not overly visible in attached scans.)  Postmarked in San Salvador on 14 August 1969.
