    Description

One of the most beautiful silverplate antique roll top butter dishes that we have seen.
Stamped on the bottom "Simpson Hall Miller & Co." Quadruple Plate 19th Century.
Supported by two figural cherubs / children standing on an ornate shaped base with four feet.
The upper spherical dish is decorated on both sides with etched flowers and leaves that look like sunflowers. On one side only by the horizontal line, the initials "LB" are etched.
These are not very visible or easy to see.
The dish halves swing open to reveal a circular removable tray for the butter, below which there is a space for crushed ice to keep the butter cool.
There are no damages to the dishes overall exterior surface, but there is wear to the silver plate and some scratches. No dents or breaks though and no butter knife.
The overall size is 13 1/2" high X 7" long. The butter dish measures 6" across.
