DRAPPED OLD MAN
DELICATE PIECE CREATED IN THE IMPERIAL JAPAN, DURING THE MEIJI PERIOD (1868-1912), CIRCA 1900. THIS SMALL SCULPTURE, SHOW THE CARVED FIGURE OF A STANDING OLD-MAN FULLY DRESSED WITH A KIMONO, HOLDING WITH THEIR TWO HANDS AN OPEN VESSEL.
IT WAS MADE FROM A NATURAL CARVING WITH EXCELLENT CRAFTMANSHIP AND WITH GREAT DETAILS.
IS SUITED AT THE REVERSE WITH THE CHARACTERISTIC DOUBLE HOLES TO BE ATTACHED TO THE
OJIME
BALL AND THEN TO THE
INRO
BOX. HAVE REMAINS OF THE GREENISH-BROWNISH-OCHRE INK ACCENTS.
IT IS SIGN IN THE BOTTOM WITH JAPANESE CHARACTERS.
THIS PIECE HAVE A MEASURES OF 52 mm BY 32 mm BY 17 mm AND HAVE A WEIGHT OF 22.9 Grams.
