Here you see an antique Lithuanian spinning wheel. It is an ancient machine that turned fibers into yarn or yarn that was later woven into fabric on fabric This spinning wheel is stable a, and well-functioning. I am also adding wooden skein winder mechanism so you would have a lovely set ready to be used. Notice that this spinning wheel has some real amber encrustations on it which makes it truly unique. It bears the dates 1899, imprinted on the body. You can see the flower-shaped ornament in the main part.  It is for wool, threads, etc. to pin to the distaff.

Wooden Skein Winder Mechanism :
After yarn is spun on the spinning wheel and the wheel’s bobbin is full, it is transferred from the bobbin to the skein winder to make a skein. Yarn is stored or sold in skeins. Skeins are then wound into balls for knitting or crochet or onto shuttle bobbins for weaving just prior to use. A skein winder is also used to measure yardage. Each rotation is usually 1, 1.5, or 2 yards. Count rotations while winding to know number of yards in skein.
